Meditation

Stress is very harmful to the mental well being of a person. Not only that, stress also impacts the physical appearance of a person. Stress, when left unmanaged and unresolved, causes negative physical changes in the body which actually speeds up aging. For instance, too much stress causes the person to feel anxious, which in effect causes him to frown. When this happens, lines will begin to appear in the face, and in due time, wrinkles too!

Stress is also very dangerous as it can lead to the following: anxiety, depression, obsessive anger and hostility, insomnia, high blood pressure, and heart attacks.

To combat stress, health experts suggest doing some proven activities that will help alleviate the condition. One such activity is meditation. According to a 2005 study conducted in Boston at the Massachusetts General Hospital, meditation helped prevent age-related changes in the brain. Meditation is also known as “the relaxation response”, a technique that involves repeating a mantra or a word, sound, phrase, or prayer for at least 10 minutes a day.

How is meditation done? It’s very simple. To begin, make sure you choose a quiet place. Sit down and then close your eyes. As you do this, relax your muscles, roll your head, neck, and shoulders, and breathe deeply. As you exhale, say your mantra. Repeat saying your mantra every time you exhale. When you’re done, keep your eyes closed for another minute and then slowly let your thoughts flow back into your mind.

Load Up on Omega 3 Rich Food

Omega-3 fatty acids are found in salmon, walnuts, and some seeds. These fatty acids help stabilize the mood and maintain bone strength. They are also known to help prevent visible signs of aging because fatty acids help reduce inflammation in the body.

To get enough Omega 3 fatty acids in the diet, which is ideally 2 grams per day, the daily diet should include plenty of fatty fish like wild salmon and/or walnuts. There are also fish-oil supplements available that you can take as supplements.

Pamper Your Skin

Pamper your skin by applying Retinol, which is a type of vitamin A. Retinol is considered the most effective over-the-counter treatment to smooth the skin and prevent wrinkles. When you use Retinol, your skin will gently peel, revealing a silkier, rosier, and suppler layer. Moreover, Retinol use has been shown to tighten pores, reduce fine lines, improve the skin texture, and give skin a general radiance.

These are just few of the now well-known “secrets” to staying young. Try them now and see if they really work!
