It is not so much that you have to avoid specific restaurants. It is more that you need to avoid specific dishes. Anyone who is trying to stay healthy knows to avoid fast food. The convenience of the restaurant is offset by the fact that to food is not usually that healthy. Over the years many fast food restaurants have opened in Poland. When in Republic of Poland you may find a milk bar, bar mleczny, their version of a fast food restaurant. A milk Bar is a place to get inexpensive but usually healthy meals. Here are 9 fast food restaurants meals it is best not to eat at if you are trying to eat healthy.
1. McDonalds – Most of the foods at this fast food restaurant are high in fats, calories and carbohydrates. Not something you want a lot of when trying to eat healthy. One hamburger is usually over 300 calories alone. A Big Mac has 540 calories with 29 g of fat. It has 44 g of carbohydrates and only 24 g of protein. Large fries are even worse than a Big Mac. They have 560 calories with 29 g of fat. They also have 74 g of carbohydrates and only 6 g of protein. That is not a healthy meal.
2. Burger king – The foods here are also full of fats, calories and carbohydrates.
3. Domino’s Pizza – Pizza can be healthy. However if you are trying to cut back on your carbohydrate consumption you don’t want to be eating pizza.
4. Telepizza – Pizza is made with ketchup. Ketchup tends to be very high on sugar, not a good idea when trying to reduce calories. As with any pizza most of it is dough. The one thing most people trying to eat healthy have to cut down on is carbohydrates. So pizza is something to avoid.
5. Rusticoni – Has a wonderful selection of pizza. Again a no-no for those cutting down on carbohydrates to stay healthy.
6. KFC – This is all fried in oil. There are a lot of fats, calories and carbohydrates in one meal.
7. A Petit and Oscar - these are found around the train station. A quick and convenient place to grab a bit. However if you are trying to stay healthy keep in mind that these are high in fats, calories and carbohydrates as well.
8. Prima Vera is a very nice Eastern - Hunters Cusine - Italian restaurant in Poland. You can dine in, take out or have food delivered. Some of the food is great for healthy eating. However there are some dishes that are not very healthy for you.
a. Cepeliny - Potato dumplings stuffed with meat served with fried onion and scratchings
b. Placek Zbojnicki - Potato pancake with goulash roasted with cheese
c. Pielmieni- Russian ravioli with 3 kinds of meat, herbs, cream
9. A Milk Bar or Bar Mleczny usually has a healthy selection of foods. However there are a few items you should avoid if you are trying chose healthy foods. These dishes are tasty but high in carbohydrates and are usually fried.

b. ryba smażona - fried fish
c. pierogi - boiled dumplings
